Weapon Noise Simulators

We design and build a range of non-lethal weapon noise simulators which use an oxygen/propane gas mixture with fire rates of up to ten shots per second. These can be modified Airsoft guns to look realistic, or a simpler design for purely noise. Please note that not all airsoft units are suitable for conversion.

On Tour:

Replica machine gun for Roger Waters


Roger Waters, world famous musician and Pink Floyd co-founder, contacted us to make a replica P40 Schmeisser light machine gun which actually spat fire and made a loud bang for the track ‘In the Flesh’ as part of his recent ‘This is Not a Drill’ tour.


The tour played 40+ dates in North America and then another 40 dates in Europe. Two complete systems were delivered to ensure 100% redundancy, but the spare gun was never needed.


On each show he fired it for about 10 seconds at a fire rate of 10 shots/second. We instructed the road crew in the operation and safe working of the gun, and they followed instructions to the letter.



IDEX Abu Dhabi


Smoking Boots is proud to have participated in the bi-annual opening ceremony at the IDEX defence exhibition at the Abu Dhabi exhibition centre to provide the sounds of gunfire as the constraints of the site rule out the use of blank ammunition.
